Speech Therapy Services
This program focuses on children who have communication difficulties.
Each participant will be assessed, diagnosed and treated to improve
their speaking skills. We provide therapy for the following communication
disorders:
- Voice – difficulty with the quality, volume or pitch.
- Speech – difficulty with the production of sounds required
for normal speech which results in the child not being understood.
- Language – difficulty understanding and using words,
sentences, stories or written messages.
- Reading and Spelling – difficulty with phonemic awareness
and reading comprehension.
- Accent Modification – when a child’s accent, speech
rate or intonation affect speech intelligibility.
Vocal Improvement & Effective Communication Skills
This program is designed to develop a student’s ability to
make effective presentations for oral assessment. Increasingly, the
school curriculum requires students to present oral assessments in
class. The aim of this course is to enable each student to develop
the necessary skills to deliver confident, effective and high impact
presentations. The course will encourage the planning, organisation
and delivery of effective oral presentations that meet the requirements
of the Board of Studies syllabus. The program demands maximum participation
from individual students and provides the opportunity to practice
presentations, receive feedback and ultimately to present with confidence.
