Vocal Improvement & Effective Communication

Make an impression with your voice! Gain a voice that can be heard, understood and appreciated in any situation. The course will encourage the planning, organisation and delivery of effective oral presentations. The program demands maximum participation from individual students and provides the opportunity to practice presentations, receive feedback and ultimately to present with confidence. Improve self esteem and gain practical experience in controlling nervousness, eye contact, active listening, voice techniques, speech making and body language in stimulating, interactive and fun sessions. Tuition is available in both individual and group settings.

This course will prove invaluable for:

  • Younger students who wish to achieve the speaking and listening targets set in the school curriculum.
  • Students taking academic and vocational courses for whom communication is essential for participation in interviews, tutorials, seminars and presentations.
  • Those preparing to enter, or already following, professional or business careers in which communication skills are a fundamental component. The “Professional Certificate in Communication Skills” is an internationally recognised certificate awarded by Trinity Guildhall.

Drama Club

This course will provide you with the opportunity to interact with new friends and create a fulfilling and dramatic performance in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. You will be challenged each week, working on skills that will extend your knowledge of acting and boost your confidence in performing.

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is one of the most popular areas of the performing arts. Participants will develop the ability to integrate singing, acting, movement and dance as part of a performance. Participants will be encouraged to develop confidence, expression and their ability to co-operate and negotiate.

Speech Therapy Services

This program focuses on adults and children who have communication difficulties. Each participant will be assessed, diagnosed and treated to improve their speaking skills. We provide therapy for the following communication disorders:

  • Voice – difficulty with the quality, volume or pitch.
  • Speech – difficulty with the production of sounds required for normal speech which results in the individual not being understood.
  • Language – difficulty understanding and using words, sentences, stories or written messages.
  • Reading and Spelling – difficulty with phonemic awareness and reading comprehension.
  • Accent Modification – when a person’s accent, speech rate or intonation affect speech intelligibility.

Customised Training

Specific training is also available in the following:

  • Drama & Speech
  • Public Speaking
  • Speeches for Special Occasions - weddings, engagement or 21st birthdays.
  • Literacy/Reading Skills
  • Vocal Improvement
  • English Speaking & Writing Skills
